Ok for the last 2 years I have been having on again off again blood on my stool. I have been to see the doctor twice about my problems both times I sent a stool sample away for testing and both times it came back fine. My doctor did blood tests both times and they came back normal as well. Now just yesterday I went to the bathroom and there was blood on the outside of the stool and on the toilet paper, nothing on the inside of the stool, no different than what I have been seeing over the last 2 years so I didn’t worry about it. Now today I went to the bathroom and I passed a big stool and around that stool there were dark patches that I could break away from the main stool. Now I don’t have any other symptoms, I don’t have stomach pain, I’m not tired all the time and I can still eat normally and I am not losing weight. So I guess I am not sure on what’s going on inside of me. And I would like to get some feed back before I go back to the doctor. Oh yea just before all this happened I got weird stomach flu, I had diarrhea for a month. I am not sure if that has anything to do with this or not.

To me it sounds like you may have hemmoroids both outside and inside. They can be caused by bouts of diarrhea because you feel like you still have to go and so you strain causing hemmoroids. Anyway I am no doctor but I do know that bright red blood means it does not come from deep internal somewhere...if it were internal and deep like stomach or something I think it would be dark red,,nearly black. Your doctor hasnt said anything other than the test are okay? I think I would be asking some questions. Meanwhile maybe you should try more fiber in your diet. Do you eat a lot of hot things like jalepeneos or salsa or mexican food or cajun perhaps? That can cause problems with stools as well. Oh and drink lots of water. Do ask your Doctor more questions I just know a few things because my husband has had this problem before but everyone is different.
