My mother has just seen an oncologist who has set her up for radiation treatment to shrink her tumor before surgery and explained that she'd also be having more radiation and chemo after the surgery. We had been expecting this treatment because her surgeon had said the tumor should be shrunk before surgery, but we were overwhelmed with the frequency of visits. She is scheduled to have treatment daily for five weeks!!!! Has anyone heard of such a thing? We had sort of expected maybe every day for a week, or perhaps once a week for several weeks. 25 treatments over 5 weeks seems an awful lot.
