Hello,
My son was dx with PDD-NOS/AUTISM in November of 2004. I really still don't know much about it. If anyone can give me any information I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you. :)

My son is diagnosed PDDNOS and SID. From what I've read and heard on many message boards, PDDNOS is either that the child does not completely meet the criteria of autism but meets most of the criteria or that it is a placeholder until they can be sure of a diagnosis when the child is older. I see with my son that he really has none of the social issues that accompany true autism and I believe that is why he received his diagnosis. I've decided not to focus on the label. Instead I focus on doing all I can to help him reach his potential. My son is currently in a 1/2 day preschool disabled program with pullouts for OT, speech and PT. He is doing great. How old is your son? What services does he receive?

Chris is also "pdd nos" He didn't speak (until recently :bouncing: ) and had poor social skills. He is very loving to everyone he knows now. He goes to a specail preschool for 5.5 hours a day gets speech and ot 3xs a week and has gotton a lot better in the past year. I would suggest getting your child services thru early intervention. The sooner you get him started the better off you will be. Good luck.
