well, I finally got the report of my bone density test and here is what it said:
Total Left Hip:
BMD:0.923 T-Score:-0.158 %young normal: 98% Z-score:-0.147
% age matched: 98%
Forearm:
BMD: 0.581 T-score: 0.337 %young normal: 103% Z-score: 0.430
% age matched: 104%
Assesment: overall, the patients bone density test results were normal.
I was very happy to hear this. I am only 27 but have a history of OP in my family (mom and gma), I smoked, drank alcohol, didn't take supplements, didn't take in much calcium and the big thing I was on Depo Provera for eleven years.
BUt, what does all this really mean? Anyone able to explain the results, and why the forearm was so different? They couldn't do my back b/c of my lumbar fusion and metal in it.
