I am being treated for OCD but I am not sure that is what I have. The only time I have OCD tendencies is when I have blood work and something comes back either to high or to low. This last time my white blood cells came back at 4.0 when the norm is 4.8 to 10.8 but the Dr says my white blood cells were fine. But I start getting on the internet all day at work and sometimes at home and start diagnosing myself even when the dr says I am fine. I then take my temperture numerous times during the day to see if I am running a fever checking to see if I have an infection or not. When my hemoglobin came back a little to high a couple of times I even purchased a hand held hemoglobin machine and started checking it at home. If I have OCD how come none of the psycharist that I have seen in the past mentioned it. I was the one that brought it up to my Dr since I do the repeated temperture checking and so forth and he agreed with me. I am on 200 mg of Luvox which I can't stand I feel even worse now then I did before. The only thing that I felt helped me with depression was Paxil Cr but I gained so much weight on it I got off it. OH yeah, he says OCD is a disease and that it can not be cured. What do you guys think?? Like I said the only time I get like this is when I have blood work.

You are obsessing about your health so OCD is a quick diagnosis, but since it's only your health this could also be hypochondria. Ordinary folk like us do not have the medical education to understand what test results are acceptable -- we see something that is "off" and automatically assume that the doctor isn't doing his job properly. I have this and my sister has this, and we both have OCD's about other things as well. If the meds are causing you grief and this is the only thing you are obsessing about then perhaps you can go off them like I have. You have to understand however that the test results that you believe may indicate a health problem don't, unless the doctor says so. This is the main reason why doctors do not like us looking at our charts!!!
