View Full Version : Prevention of infection after lost filling?

Hi, I had a partial root canal done over the summer, the reason I did not go back for the final visit was partly expenses and partly because I hated the dentist I was using. She belittiled me and the whole procedure was extremly painful, she wasn't really sure what she was doing and she admitted that to me... anyway, the temporary filling is mostly out, it just fell out 2 days ago and I have made an appointmet with my old dentist from when I was a child to see him on Friday. My question is, I don't want this tooth to abcess, what can I do to prevent that from happening? I'm not in any pain unless I try to bite hard on it (which I presume is natural since there are still 2 canals not sealed) I also don't feel ill at all.

Thanks for the advice and hopefully I can get this tooth finished and move on with my life! I never thought one tooth could cause so many problems.

Thanks, I am doing all that, keeping it incredibly clean and eating soft stuff only on one side lol. Hopefully it won't get worse.
