What does it feel like when your legs go numb while walking? It is so hard to describe some of the feelings you get. I will try to describe my feeling the best I can. I can be walking and all of a sudden it feels like I'm missing a step. It kind of feels like I'm stumbling.

Another question. Do you find it hard to close eyes while standing? I have had episodes where I'm standing with my eyes closed and feel like I'm falling. I usually catch myself and don't fall.

Natatude are you diagnosed with MS? I posted before and described this same sort of thing. When I walk for more than like 2 minutes, my left leg begins to get stiff. I end up not bending my knee as I step, and I trip all over myself unless I make a conscious effort to bend and lift my leg as I step. That just avoids the tripping, doesnt help the range of motion in my leg, until I am able to sit for a few minutes, then it goes back to normal, but starts up again shortly. Is this a sign of MS? My brother has MS... that is why I am considering this diagnosis! Please comment...

yes,, i was dx'd on 9/11,, 2001,,, after finding out what it was i had, had symptoms since 1997,, i quit being a home health nurse because i was getting sick in the summertime,, having numbness and my eye site was almost gone in my right eye and it would get better in a couple months,,, the first MRI i had my neuro dx'd me right off cause i had over 20 lesions. of course they did the blood work and everything first for a whole month i had all kinda tests ran,, and the MRI definatly proved it, thank god i didn;t need a spinal tap,, cause that scares me, just the thought of it.

My right foot has been numb off and on for a month or so. Also my ring and pinky fingers are numb almost constantly. It's not so severe that I can't function with daily activities but I would like to know if any one else has this or how they deal with it. I am just concentrating more on walking so I don't trip myself up. Thanks!!!
