A couple days ago I started to get REALLY tired...really, really fatigued and bad lower back pain, and just an overall yuck feeling. The next day my whole body is sore and I can barely move...it feels like I'm about to break. I am SO tired. My eyes are sore and tired, my jaw hurts (that might be from recent dental surgery though), I'm losing my appetite, sometimes I feel like I have a fever and am just burning up (no thermometer). I kind of have shortness of breath...I feel like I'm going to pass out just walking two feet across the room. Could this be mono? It kind of sounds like it, but can't you only get that through kissing, and doesn't that person have to be infected with it? The only person I kiss is my fiance and he doesn't have mono. Anyways, thanks for the help in advance.

EDIT: Is there any antibiotic to take to help cure mono? My mother is telling me that you no longer have to stay and rest in bed, that they have medicine to fix that. Although I was just talking to someone who just got over a case of mono and was in bed for weeks ~.~ Also, how long does it take for test results for mono to come in?

Sure sounds like mono and no you don't get it only from kissing. You could have caught the virus from numerous places! If you don't feel any better in a day or two then I would go see the doctor in case it's something serious like a kidney infection......

How long does it take for mono results to come in? I also edited my original post with another question I forgot to ask. Thanks for your help :)

I haven't heard of any medication available for mono -- it's a virus! Bed rest is the only treatment thus far and it takes about a month for it to go away. Test results may take up to 7 days.

Are you feeling any better at all? This could be a wicked flu too....

It may be mono or it could be anemia...they have very similar symptoms and either way a simple blood test will help you at least you get a dx and stop worrying about it...I have Autoimmune Hemolytic Anemia and it sounds a lot like me a few months ago...have you noticed any bruising? I know I was really worried a few months before I got my dx about having some sort of cancer like leukemia..you could breath on me and I bruised..l am not kidding I still think people thought my Husband was beating me...I had them every ware...So go to your doc and get the blood work please...I don't want to scare you but it sent me in to the hospital for about 5 days and they had no clue what I had just the my hemoglobin was at a 4 ...which is VERY low, then on to a ton of tests for lymphoma, lupus, and a ton of other stuff, I had 4 blood transfusions ....but I am happy to say a nasty little drug named prednisone has save my life...please look on the anemia thread and the immune disorders thread and that might help you also.
Good luck :D
