My daughter when she was little had a skin problem (not bad at all) where there were tiny blood vessels that would break and look like spots that weren't raised. They didn't hurt her nor did they itch. The Dr. gave it a name but I don't remember what it was and now he's retired and this was a number of years ago. Can anyone help?

If you are referring to those little red dots that look like they have tiny little capillaries(looks kind of like a tiny little spider web kinda thing?)runnig from them, they are called angiomas. My son used to get these before his liver problems were discovered. Some of them just happen and are indicative of nothing, really. But in my sons case,he had one very bright red one on his face that kept getting brighter red over time. The first time he saw this liver specialist, she said that she knew that he had portal vein hypertension just by seeing that bright red angioma on his face. And boy,was she right about that!He was Tx four years ago,and is doing well. This 'could" and i say could,be an indication of something else going on with your daughter or it could be something that just happens for no apparent reason.Just where are her spots located and have you noticed any changes in their appearance?marcia
