View Full Version : HELPSensitivity to hot/cold???

I've had root canals on teeth 21 & 20 recently & the doc is now prepping those teeth for crown.

However tooth #22 has been killing me with sensitivity to hot/cold & blowing in air from my mouth.

I mentioned this to my dentist & he did the metal "tapping" test to see if it needs a root canal, but that tapping didn't hurt me at all. He did blow the cold air on it & I almost jumped out my seat. So he said I'm brushing too hard on the back of that tooth & the nerve is slightly exposed.

He procedded to put some liquid like substance (he called it a desensitizer) behind it & told me that should work, but I'm still expereincing sensitivity.

What is the problem? Is it tooth decay? How can he fix the problem if it's not a root canal dilema??
