I have a round patch of skin that is slightly red. It is like dry ezema. It is round and about a 1/2 cm in diameter. I keep putting lotion or creme on it. It is not going away. Can a dry/scaley patch be cancer? Or does it sound more like ezema.

I just had a similar round patch of dry skin on my leg...I went to the dermatologist and it turned out to be "coin" eczema (the technical name is numular (sp?)). I was given a steroid ointment to apply to it, and it went away in 2 weeks. I would suggest that you go to see your doctor to make sure it is nothing more serious than eczema.

Good luck!
