I started Ortho Evra on Sunday 2-13 after I had my period. I read the instructions like 10 million times just to make sure that I am doing this right but after reading the instructions again I'm not sure I'm doing it right!
If I started my patch on Sunday after my period it says that I must use a back up method for the first week of my cycle. Does anyone know if this is really just the first week I am on the patch? So on Sunday 2-20 It will be okay not to use a back up method??
I think I just confused myself by reading the instructions too much!

Use must use a back-up form of birth control for 7 full days after starting the patch. Many doctors recommend that you use a back-up method for the entire 1st cycle, which is a good idea to be extra safe.

If I remember right, you shoulda started on the first day of your period? But it really doesnt matter. Maybe you should use condoms for the first month,

It says you can start on the first day of your period or the sunday after your period. I'm just going to be safe this month and use a condom.
Thanks
