Hello Everyone!

My boyfriend is about to go in for Microendoscopic surgery to removed 2 herniated discs. Although this surgery is less invasive and recovery time is shorter than most back surgeries, he will still be laying low and no work for at least 4 weeks.

I am looking for ways to help him, entertain him and keep him busy so he doesnt go stir crazy during his recovery! anyone know of any ideas? He is into fitness and active lifestyle so we will have to keep him occupied with other things..........he is into snowmobiling, cars, bikes, working out, food, watching football & hockey..........I am trying to think of things I can do to help keep him (and me) from going nuts!

Thanks!!!!!

HMMMMM, well, for me it was movies, movies, magazines, books, and more movies. We have games but I didn't ever feel up to that, not even the one done on tv. I couldn't sit up for so long either we'd go shopping or I'd be in bed. Have you asked him what kinds of things he'd like to have on hand? It is good that you will be there support him, that can be such a healing booster. I wish him well with his surgery and best wishes to you both!

When I had my first surgery I knew every movie out of video, but that gets expensive and boring after a while. After I had my second back surgery I had my family bring me magazines about things that interested me. So load him up on magazines with cars, boats, motorcycles and manly things. Also think about putting a playstation close by so he can race those cars........lol........Good luck to you and your boyfriend!!! Tammy

thank you for the replies. I am getting more nervous as the surgery date gets closer. I am just afraid of him pushing the limits and hurting himself further after surgery which is why I am so concerned about keeping him busy :) thanks again for the replies
