In Dec 03 I had a two seperate instant and very severe headaches - on lasted only a couple of hours and the second lasted 10-12 hours - I was so worried during the second one - I went to the ER to make sure I was not having a brain bleed - Catscan was normal - but was sent a few days later to have an MRI - just to be sure - the MRI showed a number of tiny "white spots" - Nurologist called and said he wanted to do a spinal tap to check for MS - wow what a mind blower for me - tap came back normal - and I had had no symptoms what so ever - then within a month or so I began having some strange sensations - burning in my groin and anal areas - feet - legs etc. - never sever but annoying - these have continued the last year - off and on - I have had none of the classic symptoms of MS - now the most common feeling feels more like a circulation problem - my legs somtimes feel like I just pulled them from scalding water - not real painful but hard to describe feeling - these also come and go - some days none some days most of the day - all of these strange feelings go away when I sit in a nice hot bath - or lay down to go to sleep - I have been to afraid to return to the Doc - I feel like as long as nothing worse happens - maybe it's not MS - maybe it's in my head - ANY IDEAS??? Please tell me what you can - the fear is maddening!
Thanks,

Some people have terrible MS symptoms with no visiable lesions and others have many lesions and few symptoms. But the problem with neurological disorders is that they are all very similar and difficult to distinguish.
If you want to do some background reading on MS http://www.nmss.org/ is a good site.
Take it easy, get lots of rest and make sure you have good support from your friends and family. I hope you can get answers soon! Good luck!

Hi Brad:
Come back from Egypt. . .away from denial. Ignorance is not bliss. I know it's scary, I'm at the beginning of the diagnosis process. I've ignored different symptoms the past four years. I never connected them and didn't know anything about MS to suspect that. Each episode would last 3 - 8 months, so by the time I was getting serious about seeing a doctor the symptoms were gone. But if you can get an accurate diagnosis for your illness you can receive treatment that may actually significantly slow down the deteriation. I know seeing doctors and having tests can be discouraging and exhausting (not to mention expensive), but it's worth it. I hope you have a good doc and a good support system. We're all rooting for you too. Good luck.
Julie

hi brad.......i've been dx for about 18 months now...i started off with a loss of vision in one eye and was sent for a mri....which the neuro said was ms...as i had about 9 lesions in my brain.............i get little symptoms all the time ..the last one has been a sore neck (feels like all my glands are up) and very bad sinus headaches.....i've been keeping a diary and writing down every day how i'm feeling so when i go to the neuro i can tell them whats happening............don't give up ..you may need to go back to the neuro and let them know whats been happening with you......ask them if it's not ms then what the hell is it ......you have to be tough and keep nagging at them...
best of luck ....and you can always ask someone here for their opinion...as most of us have already been there
