Hi All -
Can anyone tell me the difference between the BBT thermometer and a regular digital thermometer?
I am going to start charting my temps this cycle and wasn't sure if I could use a regular digital thermometer... I guess I will buy the BBT one anyway, but am interested in how they are different.
Thanks!!!

Ok - I have a follow up quesiton....
I got the BBT thermometer. I thought my cycle wasn't going to start til tomorrow or the weekend, but I got it tonight. So I will start taking my temp tomorrow morning. Is this the right time to start? At the beginning of the cycle?
Thanks!

I believe the Basil Therm. measures your temp differently then a regular one, but I could be wrong. I have one that I just bought and it looks the same as a reg one..so I don't know.
And YES it is the right to start the first morning at the beginning of your cycle.. :)
Good Luck!

The bbt is more accurate and has a smaller temperature range than a regular thermometer (even a digital regular thermometer is +/- .4, which is too much deviation for charting)

Thanks for the info! Just trying to figure all this stuff out! My DH travels a lot with his job, so trying to determine ovulation is a must.... we're trying for #1. Been off the pill since Dec and have had AF twice now.. relatively on time, which was quite surprising.
