Hiya: What a shame. You'd need a good eye surgeon to tell you whether surgery would do any good. What the doctors do say though, is you should wear polycarbonate (unbreakable) lenses to protect your good eye.

Reading your story is very strange for me. I was hit in the right eye with a dart when I was 5. I had a hyphema and lost most of my vision in the eye. I had surgery on it but it didn't fix the vision much. I just had strabismus surgery on it to correct the laziness but as far as the vision goes, it's shot. I use my left eye for everything, and I too have perfect vision in that eye.
You should go see a specialist....even though there was nothing that could be done to improve my vision, there may be hope for you.
Good luck!
