Recently I've noticed that my eyes are very dry,red, and sore. They feel as if I used hot sauce as eye drops. The only thing that seems to help is close my eyes. I do have allergies but I've never had this problem before. I've gone to two doctors so far and they both told be that I need to lubricate my eyes. I do and it STILL DOESN'T WORK. Please help me.

Are you having tearing along with the pain and redness? Just wondering if your Dr did the tear tests- Schirmers and tear break up etc. I'm sorry I can't offer any information. My eyes have been red, dry and sore for nearly a year and I haven't figured it all out yet.

Just lubricate, lubricate, lubricate! Your doctor may also precribe you some allergy drops. Use cold comrpesses to relieve discomfort. You may also try gel drops, such as Refresh Celluvisc, which are more viscous tears. Also, are the tear drops you are using preservative free? Preservatives will only irritate your eyes more. You should be using preservative free tear drops such as Bion Tears or Thera Tears.
