I had a lift (no augmentation) a week ago and my breasts are still very itchy. They were quite painful until the PS took the stitches out at 5 days PO.

I did it 5 days ago but you only did the lift and you found it painful It feels weird and painful I think my plastic surgeon told me the stitches disolve I have to ask him. Besides being itchy are you still somewhat sore and in alittle pain you did yours only a week ago. I always get nervous that something is wrong. Are you pleased with how they look also do they look smaller with a lift or bigger because I got the implant also so I would be fuller and alittle bigger and I did get exactly what I wanted they look great I just do not like the way it feels right now. Thanks

You will have quite a longer down time than a plain augment because of the lift. It's much more invasive. Specifically what kind of lift did you get, do you know?
Also, if you had implants placed beneathe the muscle you should expect some soreness for a while. It will take a bit for the muscle to relax. However, when it does, you can expect your implants to settle and take on a more natural appearance. If they appear smaller than what you expected it's because your pecs are still compressing the implants right now. You may even find you increase a cup size or so when they drop and fluff. But the whole process could take upwards of 3 months or more. You may even notice small changes for upwards of a year post op.
In the mean time, you'll find that you use your pecs for even the smallest of things. Brushing your hair, brushing your teeth, driving may be very difficult.
Take it easy and rest. You just went thru major surgery believe it or not, and it will take time to recover.
You'll get used to your new additions and before you know it they'll feel like they were always there.

I thought there was only one kind of breast lift and i believe he went under the muscle. I guess you are right it will take some time to heal. Thanks for the reply. I am thrilled with how they came out. I just want to feel normal again soon.

No, there are several different types of lifts.

This is from a website that details lifts as well as other cosmetic procedures. It gives a far better description than I could:

"The three different types of breast lift surgical techniques are: concentric mastopexy, a surgical technique that removes excess skin around the areola border that is marked by the drawing of concentric circles around the patient's areola; vertical mastopexy, the breast lift surgical method of removing excess skin around the areola by making a vertical incision that descends from the areola down to the bottom fold of the patient's breasts that is also the location where their breast meet their chest; and anchor-shaped mastopexy, which is the most common breast implant surgical technique that removes excess skin by following a pattern of a keyhole shape above the nipple and areola and an anchor shape that is found at the bottom of the keyhole that goes from the right to left side of the breast."

Feeling normal after a submuscular breast aug can take some time. Just take it easy and be nice to yourself.

I was out of work for 2 weeks. I think around day 4 and 5 the pain was the worst.

It took me about a month to get used to mine, and even longer to feel as though "I'd always had them". It was quite an adjustment, but maybe that was just me.

Hi! I would like to get a breast augmentation and lift and if you don't mind me asking how much was it? I know it depends on the doctor and where you live but I hoping it's not more then 10,000. I live in southern california and I have appointments in march and april! Thanks for any info!

I live in southern california and I have appointments in march and april! Thanks for any info! I live in MI and travelled to Texas for mine where I paid $4200 total. Here in MI I would have paid atleast $6500 and the most I was told was $10,000. It does depend on where you live. Good luck. :)

It also depends on your degree of ptosis (sad). Yes, implants and lifts can go as high as $10K, it's not uncommon at all.
