View Full Version : VRT question

Hi everyone,

I have a question about VRT. Okay since I am constantly dizzy when I am sitting up or laying down, will VRT be of any benefit to me because from what I read vrt is aimed to reduce dizziness by making you do the "movements" that bring on dizziness??? I was just confused about this because there is no specific movement that makes me dizzy, I just feel like im swaying or falling/turning whenever I sit up or lay down, and its constant. So I don't know what your supposed to do to overcome these feelings? I am waiting for my new insurance to kick in so I can continue on the journey to find out what is wrong with me. I have pretty much tried to do most of the things I did before all this dizziness started. Lately, i have been going walking, jogging, ect. but nothing seems to stop this dizziness. I was told not to lay around all the time and so I havent been laying around much at all, but I can't seem to compensate?? Sorry to be ranting, im just frustrated because I don't understand any of this stuff. Thanks for any advice or help!

Hi there

I feel exactly the same as you. My dizziness is constant....falling/swaying...nothing in particular brings it on. I'm doing VRT too.

So this thread may be of some help to me too.

Hi

I too was constantly dizzy, although only when up and moving around - lying down seemed to help a little.

VRT helped me a great deal because although I was dizzy most of the day, there were certain movements that caused me to be more dizzy than others eg, a quick turn of the head, looking up, looking down and certain eye movements. I think this is why VRT helped me because they incorporate these very movements and i found that repeating them seemed to fatigue the dizziness.

Must admit I still (15 months on) get a weird sensation from some eye movements so I am persevering with the eye exercises.

I know my ENT said "find the things that make you dizzy and do them again and again and again, even though you will feel terrible". Seemed to work.

I dont think this has really answered your questions but I hope Subs will offer some input here because I know I CONSTANTLY asked him questions about VRT and everything else for that matter!!

Take care, it will get better.
