I am just now finishing my first month of Sub maintenance. I am on 10 mg twice daily and I feel pretty good. Seems like every day is different on sub.
Anyway, I would like to know if there is anybody in here that has been on Buprenorphine maintenance for a long period of time. If so I am curious if whether you have had to up or lower your dose as time went by. Any long term side effects? Any problems?
I also have hepatitis C and I am going to the doc next wednesday to see how bad and all that. Anybody with liver problems on sub maintenance? Does anybody know if there is a risk?
I know there are gobs of info on the net about sub but I would just like to hear from someone who has been on it a while.
Thanks for all replies

I do not have time to write now and I am going out of town but I am on suboxone maintenance. I have taken it for 2 years. I have decreased what I take but I lie to my doctor cause I still have that feeling I will need back up. I use to take 24 mgs a day. I don't think I needed it. I just liked that much. If you take More than that and you get sick. I came off of a 20 some percocet addiction a day. Now, 2 years later I can easily live off 8 mgs a day. And I know if I really tried I could last on 4mgs, maybe. I know it keeps the cravings away. I have been offered percocets recently and I have no interest at all . In fact I have oxycontin in my house and will not try them because I am afraid of the transition time when I have to wait til I can take the sub again after I have used. I love feeling the same every day. Some times if I take too much I feel speedy. I don't like that. I feel the bup kick in every time I take it. it is not the same as percocet but I feel it. I can get things done. I am talkative. I love the stuff and never plan to get off.

I am 42, female and a teacher. I FEEL GREAT BECAUSE OF SUBOXONE! I am not depressed anymore and do not use. life is great. My life was like many of you who post now asking for help. I did it all, stole, forged scripts, lived day to day for my drugs. and now I feel great when I wake up in the morning and I do not grab for pills. In fact sometimes , many times, I forget to take my suboxone until later in the day. I love that! To actually forget to take it! Now that is a concept.

anyone thinking about it? You should try it!
