I have a 16-month old and I desperately want him to start drinking milk! He won't drink anything but formula! No juice, no water, no whole milk. He's still drinking out of a bottle but that's a problem I'd like to conquer after he's stopped being so finicky about his fluid intake. Can anyone help?

Slowly start adding a little bit of milk to the formula. Maybe 1 oz to 7oz of formula. Then every week add one more ounce of milk and one less of formula. Or maybe your son really can't stand milk. I know a mom who's two year old HATES milk, but likes soy milk. And of course there's ther good old answer of "ask your doctor what they think"

And have you tried a cup yet? Maybe he'd be more open to different liquids in a different container.

I agree. My doc said to switch it over slowly. She also said to try using a sippy cup sometimes also. I think your 16 mo old might be a little more annoyed by the switch (my doc said I could switch my son's when he was 10 mos)

From my experience he didn't like the 2 mixed together- at all. So finally we just put milk in a bottle and warmed it up and he liked it. I think the key for at first is to serve it just like you did the bottle.

You could also try using a juice box and see if your son will use a straw.
