Hi i had a question about this birth control i was just given a perscription for because i was having problems with Yasmin. I was put on OVCON35 because my doctor is trying to find something that will work for me. Has anyone ever heard of this before and if so have you had any good/bad experiences? Any information would be helpful! i will start this the week after this. Thank you so much!!! :)

I took Ovcon 35 for years to regulate my periods and had no trouble. But now my doctor put me on Yasmin... what type of trouble were you having on it?????

I used it, I have used every brand of BC ever made I think.
I have horrible break-thru bleeding, and had it while on OVCON 35.
I was on it for about 6 months. Other than that, no problems (if you think bleeding for 3 weeks straight is not a problem)

I was just having heavy bleeding which i had never had before Yasmin, and really sore breasts which was never a big problem before either and then i got 3 yeast infections after being on it for two months which i had also never had before. I don't know why this happened but she thought switching me to Ovcon might help. Hope Yasmin works for you though because it is so different for everyone and i know many people it works for! Why did you doctor decide to switch you if you don't mind me asking? Thanks for your help!!!!!

I have endometrosis and ovcon has saved my life! I have tried many other BC and still had severe pain. Ovcon is more expensive but worth it for me! :bouncing:

He didn't switch me....I have not even been on the pill for years... I am not even supposed to take the pill because of a heart defect...but.... I do not want to get pregnant so I asked my doctor what my best choice would be and since I took Yasmine for a short time after I had my daughter he said he would recommend just going back to Yasmine. I had blood pressure issues before and he said it puts potassium back in your body...and that helps with blood pressure.

I have a lot of problems with the higher progestin levels in many of the pills out there, on Ovcon I have VERY few side effects, no cramps, light periods (or no periods), no break thru bleeding, no moodiness. This is also one of the few pills that didnt make me gain weight. Needless to say - I love it. Been on it for 3 years (came off last april to try something else that was jut violent too me) and went right back on. For the last few years I also take Ovcon straight through for 3 months at a time, then have a period, then 3 more months of Ovcon.

Everyone's body, and recation to the Pill, is different, but for me Ovcon is the only one I've been happy with :-)
