Has anyone been diagnosed with ms with out any vision problems? I have all the extras that go with ms but no vision problems. I think my doctor is waiting to see if I develop any before a definite diagnosis. Thanks!

I was diagnosed with MS before I had any vision symptoms. I had the evoked potential tests and they came back fine. Now however, from time to time I have brief blurry periods but they don't last long.

The Different Symptoms Always Depend On Where On Your Brian The Lesions Are, I Had Double Vision For My First Episode But Its Because I Have A Lesion Thats Very Active Right Behind My Optical Nerve, So You See, Even If You Have No Vision Problems And You Have Many Other Indications Of Ms, You Should Seek A Proffessional To Have The Correct Testing Done For A Correct Diagnosis, You May Have A Different Problem, Or Yur Lesions Might Be Elsewhere....

I was diagnosed without any vision symptoms, mostly just sensory problems, and some weakness. But I haven't had MS for very long, a lot of people don't get diagnosed until a long time after they're 1st symptom, I was lucky enough to get a definite dx 9 months after symptoms started. Have you had and MRI or spinal tap? or the evoked potential test?

Hi Everyone
I have been having all different symptoms for about 4 yrs i have seen a rumertoligist and had a mri scan on my spine,i have also been seing a osteopath and a chiropactor and know one can tell me what i have got,the worse pain i get is in my buttocks its a sharp spasm like pain and then i get a dull achy tingerling sensation down my legs, most of the time when i get this i can not move or walk and my leg just goes so weak,I also get tingerling sensations in my toes and fingers.Sometimes when i wake up in mornings i get a horriable blated feeling in my stomach and around my back as if i have a tight band around me and it gets tighter and most morning i feel like i have been hit by a bus,Also i have headaches all the time and am tired alot of the time with no energy.Every time i get these attacks they are all ways in a different place with different pain.Sometimes i can go a month feeling normal and then i will get an attack they just come when they want to. My mum has ms and i am just woundering if you get these sort of pains with ms,If anyone has any advice please let me know.
Thanks

Of course you don't need vision problems to have MS! Everyone has different symptoms and not everyone has vision problems. You should be able to get a dx as long as you have the required amount and variety of symptoms and that your neurological tests show signs of MS.

I was diagnosed after hearing loss. didn't have vision problems until much later. vision has never been affected significantly though. knock on wood.

My symptoms started in Sept. 04 and I might have a day or 2 with no symptoms but almost every day I have some dizziness and numbness in my last 2 fingers and right foot. I'm scheduled for another mri in 7-8 months from now Since I don't have a diagnosis of MS yet I thought I would feel better with out the anxiety of dealing with it. Will the symptoms ever go away?

No one knows if they will go away. If you have MS, they probably will go away temporarily (like for a few monts/years), if you have something else, it depends on what the disorder is and if the symptoms can be treated.
