Hi - I am recently diagnosed with OA and have had spinal fusion surgery. All in 3 weeks time. I am recovering very well from surgery in early Jan. I am questioning where this all came from. My grandmothers lived into their 90's and my mother had 5 sisters who all lived into their 80s and no one ever had this. I am (yikes) 59. My Mom, at 82 does have an arthritic knee but still walks without aids. Pain controlled by Celebrex - for now!
Anyway my question is are any of you up to date on dietary or other measures to prevent progression of this disease? I lead a pretty active life and hate to think I will have to give that up due to arthritic pain. My doc, who has a great reputation in the field was not too helpful here. Just said 'Take good care of yourself" Which I do. Thanks for any suggestions.
