Just wondering how you're doing and if you found anything out with your tests. I'm still trying to get my Dr. to do another CT to check on my "thymic mass". I hope you're doing better. Hilery

Hilery-
Hi, I was involved with our earlier post about thymic masses. I was the one who had it removed. Turned out benign, but still have health concerns and can't find answers. I am also very curious to hear from rach 81 to see what updates she has. Have you learned anything new?

Hi,
No, unfortunately I haven't learned anything new. My Dr. is still convinced that my "thymic mass" is just extra thymic tissue. He said that he believes my thymus never shrunk down like it should have when I was younger. I'm still concerned because the radiology report clearly stated that this mass could possibly be localy invasive. My Dr. said they put all the differential diagnosises in there to "cover their butts", but I don't think they would have included that in the report if they didn't think it was possibly malignant.

If you don't mind me asking, what types of symptoms did you have before you had your thymus removed? Do you still have these symptoms? I can't imagine going through that type of surgery!
I've had ongoing shortness of breath, chest pressure, tachycardia, and other symptoms for over a year now. I also have a couple swollen lymph nodes in my neck, but my GP seems to be sure they're reactive. My last chest CT was done in June 03, so I'm assuming that if this "mass" was anything too serious I wouldn't still be here. But, I can't help not to worry about it because of my symptoms.
