What exactly do they do in an evoked potential test? I never had to have one and I was wondering what it's like. Do they do them routinely or just for diagnostic purposes? Appreciate your input! :)

You sit down, they stick electrodes to your head and you stare at a checker board for a few minutes. There are a few variations to the test, but it's essentially the same thing.
It's one of the more enjoyable tests. Short and completely painless :).
