I was hoping someone would be able to help me with this problem I have with seeing spots and halos. The spots I see best with a bright background like a white wall or a clear sky or any solid background with light shining on it. But I see them regardless of background constantly though not as easily. I see them easiest when I let my eyes unfocus (kind of like what you do when you look at a 3d poster thing). If the background is big enough (like the sky) and I let my eyes unfocus, I can see hundreds at once. They are small circles with smaller circles inside them (like cells with a nucleus) that aren't really brighter than anything else or made of light, more like... a raised surface on paper. Like how on some books the words are raised so they feel weird but with my spots they are the same color as whatever the background is with very slight variations of the color. They move sometimes in groups and sometimes independantly of eachother, usually going down but sometimes up. Sometimes they seem like they follow my eye movement, like if i turn my eyes slowly to the right they go at the same speed, and in the same direction. They come in varying degrees of size too though the ones that move in clusters seem to be the same size.

The halos aren't as easy for me to see. They are usually around people or things that i look at for even a few seconds and then look away there is a greenish yellow light in that shape that is more and more obvious depending on the length of time i look at it. If I stare at something for a long enough time the light forms without me looking away like a halo around a picture of an angel (the halos where light is kinda shooting out from the person, not the little circle thing sitting on their head). I dont experience any pain from it just a slight anoyance when they get in the way of me seeing things more clearly. I do wear contacts but when I was like eight my vision was perfect and from what I remember, I saw them then too.

I've seen these things for as long as I can remember and have always thought I was crazy or something and have never told anyone at all for fear that someone would, i dont know, lock me up in a loony bin or something. I've never taken drugs or been drunk or anything. Am I just crazy?

Well, this same problem occured in a fictional book I read, and in the book, it was retinal cancer so you should definitely have it checked out.
