I just found out something new. I have a genetic problem where my colon didn't develop right and that my colon is twisted and also part of my small intestine is twisted. I am going to the surgeon on the 29th can someone who has had a hemicolectomy give me some advice.

I don't know much about this problem but my daughter has a friend who's mother went through this in June. She did have to have surgery and part of her colon was removed. She is doing great now. Maybe it won't be so bad. Good luck.

I need some help. I have tried enema, drinking like crazy. I am on a purely liquid diet. I had a barium enema today and they had to fill me up with 5000 cc of barium but they only emtied half. I have a motility problem so I am having a lot of trouble getting rid of this stuff. I even did a hot water bottle enema. I am laxative dependent so they do not work. Someone have any advise?
