I am so glad to have found a asthma board!
I was diagnosed with asthma as a child, suffered quite a bit with it, then didn't really have any trouble with it up until 2 years ago. I had to have an emergency c-sec with my son and my asthma has been terrible ever since. I don't know what happened during or after the surgery to cause it, but it has been progressively getting worse.
I am so bad today it is miserable. I was reading in some past threads about Advair and I agree, it works well. It does have some side effects though, like dizziness but it does work. I am planning to go back on it myself, I just can't right now because here the stuff costs $175 and my husband just started a new job and we really cannot afford it with no coverage. Although with how bad I am getting I don't think we are going to have any choice but to work it out.
Anyway, it is hard to explain to someone who has never felt it how miserable it is to suffer with this. (I told my husband to stick a pillow over his face and nose and try breathing through it.) I think it is underestimated how serious of an illness it is and how many people suffer serious problems and even death from it. It seems to be just catagorized with allergies.
Anyway, I will stop babbling now! Take care and I look forward to chatting with you all!
(I would also like to know the same thing that someone else asked, has anyone tried going to a chiropractor? I heard that has helped some people. With both allergies and asthma. So I was just curious! Thanks!)
