So I just got a positive opk, but I have not had any ferning today. But I did have some sort of ferning for an entire week. So...I am not convinced that it is working too well. I should ovulate in the next 24-36 hrs, yet am having no ferning anymore.
How is ebveryone else's ovulation scope working? Has anyone actually confirmed ovulation with it?

The ferning is meant to arrive 3-4 days before ovulation according to my instructions that i got with my scope, i havent used the opk's so i am unfamiliar with how they work.
I havent been able to confirm ovulation with mine due to af not arriving!

OPKs become positive 24-36 hours before ovulation. I had ferning for 8 sayd and now that I really am about to ovulate, no ferning.

My scope says im going to ovulate again, but i got my first ferning on the third and again on the 5th both with only a couple of ferns on and then again today with loads of ferns on and spots! Which i assume means im ovulating again but this cant be right as i should be getting af, thats only 15 days since last fening :confused:
Im not sure its working correctly either, i may try the opk's if af shows :rolleyes:

I have just been onto a site and basically :
It is the presence of estrogen in the saliva which increases and fern like crystal patterns will become visible.
During infertile times of the month the result on the lens will show small spots and line like patterns - this is a non fertile restult.
As you approach ovulation incipient (sp?) ferning patterns will begin to appear - this is a transitional result.
At the onset of ovulation heavier ferning crystal patterns will appear in the sample, these patterns will indicate that ovulation is occuring or about to take place - this is a +ve or fertile result. The duratin of your most fertile time will last for 4 days pre-ovulation and 24hrs post-ovulation.
I have checked another site and it says that to get a correct reading you must take the saliva from under your tongue - is this where we are going wron?
I have done a post on o microscopes now, feel free to add anything to it.
Hope this is of some help, i am still researching so if i find out anything else i may feel of use i will pass it on to you :)

I have tried it under my tongue, but I can't seem to get enough there doing it that way. So when I go to look at my sample, its like there isn't anything there!
If you use opks - I would buy them online. I got mine on an online auction. 100 strips for $26 including shipping - that 26cents per test! Great price! Although I wouldn't start using them until you get AF, otherwise you will have not idea when tosue them. In order to use them, it is a good idea to have some general idea about when, or what week, you may ovulate.

I think i will wait until af arrives, i have found a uk company that ships them with free p + p which is where i got my pg tests from and my o scope so i know there a good company, but i will wait for af otherwise i feel i will be flushing my money down the toilet so to speak!
