I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen for about 3 years and it was perfect. I didn't breakout at all. I went off it for a year (stupid, I know that now!) and my skin became horrible again, so I went back on the regular Ortho Tri-Cyclen. It cleared my skin but made me gain 10 lbs (and this was with running and eating well). I don't know how it happened or why (since I lost weight the first time I was on it) but my dr. said that when you keep on going on and off birth control you can screw with your body (obviously), which can affect your weight. So, I decided to go on Alesse. I read research that said Alesse cleared moderate acne well. I've been on it for a year now and it's not working. I'm very afraid to go back on Orth Tri-Cyclen since I don't want to gain any more weight (I still haven't gotten rid of those 10 lbs from the last time I was on it!) Has anyone tried Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo? Mircette? Yasmin? I know they haven't been proven yet to treat acne (only Ortho Tri has) but have any of you had good luck with acne on these pills or a pill without the weight gain? I also use Retin-A and Doxycyclen--but those don't seem to help either!

I want to know if Seasonale helps Acne also...:-)

I have been on birth control for acne before without much help. I have tried everything even perscribtion drugs for acne. Nothing really works. Until, I tried Proactiv. Used it for about 3 weeks and I have like one pimple now. Try it, it is really great!
