Hello everyone,

Just wondering about something. My wife would like to have the LASIK eye surgery done but is uncertain if this can be done because she has a very bad astigmatism. Can it?

Thanks so much,

Dave

hi,

I just had the LASEK I surgery, and it went well. I have a astigmatism in my right eye and that shouldn't make any difference at all. Before I did my surgey my husband did a research and read everything there was to know about the LASIK and LASEK surgury. Lasik is a much easier procedure and it only takes one day to recover, the LASEK is a bit harder at first, but in the long run we understood its alot better. I say you read into the LASEK surgury before anything. Ask her doctor and see what he has to say, but in terms of safetly, there isnt a thing that can go wrong with either or.

I must say after my surgury I feel alot better! Its definetly worth it.

let me know how it goes, good luck :)

The technology has improved over the years. I was not a candidate 4 yrs ago. I had the surgery on my left eye a year ago and love it! No glasses except to read. It was like a miracle.....my eyes welled up with tears upon being able to see again with my left eye.

P.S. I had to find the right doctor with the right laser though.
