I purchased a book about OCD that I've never heard before a few weeks ago, and when I picked it up in the bookstore I felt that certain feeling that God was telling me to get the book. It's called "Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous" with a subtitle of "Recovering from Obsessive Compulsive Disorder." It doesn't have an author per se. It's hard to describe the way it is. The first part describes the twelve steps that the group OCA (Obsessive Compulsive Anonymous) uses, just like AA or any other Anonymous group. It's very spiritual in nature, and I love that. Then there's a lot of personal stories from people who have OCD, meaning that whatever kind of major symptoms you have, they're probably shared by someone who tells a story in the book. Needless to say, it's a very dense book, and is something that I read a little bit at a time (like most everything else, though). But I've found it to be better than many of the books I've looked at regarding OCD. One of the things I like best about it is that it contains information about subtle features of OCD that aren't probably listed in a lot of textbooks, etc.
It cost me $19, but I don't regret it at all. My copy is paperback, and is shocking blue. I picked it up at Borders.
I thought I'd pass that on to any of you if you're interested.
