Ok, its always been messed up because my period came 2 days late on my very first pack. Since my period insnt this convient 28 say thing, I knew it would come when I was done with my pack! THEY never told me what to do if that happened. They would just always say "well come in if you think you're pregnant." and I was like "no i'm basically just using this to regulate my period" I asked 1,000 times but the same dumb answer.

So, putting matters into my own hands... trying to get back those three pills I took when I hadn't got my period.. it just got screwed up. This time I SKIPPED 3 pills.. since I KNEW I WASN'T DOING ANYTHING (Sorry im just mad at those people at the clinic). I skipped three and started over on Sunday. I still had my period... was about done.

Then things gone messed up. Around the 15th I just started another period (I think a week after my real period). Its STILL going, its light though.

I kept taking the pills but now I'm going to be on my last one of the pack. So SINCE i'm still bleeding (and have been bleeding for a big chunck of the month) should I take the 7 "in active pills" or will that screw things up more. Or should I just get off the stupid thing, since I'm not sexually active and it's screwed up my period?

For those who read, thank you. and please! help me.

The inactive pills really are just sugar. You really need to take the pill everyday around the same time to prevent bleeding. You should wait till the Sunday following your period to start a new pack. I think you should try taking the pills correctly for 3 months and see if the break through bleeding stops.

I never take my inactive pills, there only purpose is to keep you in schedule of remembering to take a pill. You should start the next pack on the Sunday after the last inactive pill.

I'm wondering what you meant when you said your period came two days late on your first pack. I am on the 21 day packs of pills, this means 21 active pills and no inactive ones so I finish a pack on Saturday and take nothing for seven days and start a new pack (on Sunday). Your period will not come immediately after you are done with the active pills, I believe with most women it takes 2-3 days before your period will come. My period ALWAYS starts on the Wednesday or Thursday (which is always a stressful wait considering I finished the pack on the Saturday before!). You also want to keep in mind that you should start a new pack on the right day (I believe this is a Sunday start for you) even if you are still having your period.

It may take your body a few of months to regulate the hormones but you have to give it time and take them correctly. If you are good at remembering your pill and don't want to take the inactive (last seven) pills then just throw them out (or get the 21 day pack) and start a new pack on the following Sunday. If you would like to keep taking the inactive pills as a reminder then keep taking them, but if you miss one (of the inactive ones) its ok, just throw it away and keep going. You only need to follow the instructions for a missed pill if you missed one of the active ones and even though you are not using them as a method of birth control you still want to take them correctly as not following directions may cause breakthrough bleeding.

Hope this helps a little :D
