Hi Everyone
I just thought I would share my lastest experience. In case you don't know me I have been suffering with the dizzies for 2.5 years now. I have a VN like condition as well as BPPV.
Last week I went on holidays on an island. Being an island I had to get on a boat in order to get to the island. I was very scared about this.....when I got to the wharf and saw the boat I freaked out.....it was rocking up down, up down, up down...... I got on the boat and as soon as I stepped foot on the boat it felt shocking.....the rocking was hard to take. It was as though it was exactly mimicking some of the symptoms I get. When the boat started moving it was slightly better. 40 minutes later I got off the boat and of course I felt like I was still on the boat. That feeling lasted about 1 hr. But then it faded. I noticed that after this boat experienced I seemed to be more sensitive to motion - eg buses, trains, even walking at times. On the way home I coped surprisingly well. I actually enjoyed the boat trip home. Felt practically normal........however when I got off I did have the rocking sensation which remained with me for a while.
I have caught planes before and although the boat trip was harder then the plane I am absolutely impressed that I lived through it!!! I would do it again.
