View Full Version : Sensitive ear after removing wax

I am suffering from a sensitivity to noise. I recently had my ears cleaned to remove excessive wax. It helped for a while but I still have a blocked feeling in the ears and this worsens when I listen to music. Even someone sneezing will hurt my ears.

I went back to the ENT today and he said the eulachian (sp) tube might be swollen or something wrong with it. i didnt get what exactly he said but he gave me zyrtec extended release tablets and told me to take twice a day and it should clear away in 2-3 days. I have been hearing my voice amplified and every noise seems louder and i hear echos when i talk. Does this sound like a good advice from ENT?

thx

Neo

hi neo, and welcome to the boards!
the only thing i can think of is eustachian tube disorder. they can replace your tubes with, i think it nylon or something. i haven't heard anything on e-tube dysfucnction in a while in this board. type it into the search and see what comes up. i've heard of several people having their tubes replaced and feeling better. keep us posted:)
