I'm wondering if there is a possibility if the humalog that i am on for my type 1 diabetes is reacting strangely with my medication (Welbutrin) for my depression. A lot of people have complained about being tired all the time, but its just completely the opposite for me.

I am also on insulin and anti depressants (paxil) and haven't really noticed any changes in my energy level whilst on both.

Assuming you're taking your medications properly, I would assume you would have more energy from the lower blood sugars and regulated chemical levels in your brain...

Maybe talk to your doc about it?

best of luck!

I have been on humalog and wellbutrin for over 6 months and haven't had any problems. I did, however, have to change how much I was taking. Your moods can affect your blood sugar levels. In my case, when I am really happy, it's lower and when I am down, it goes up. Up until I was 4 I was ill every Christmas until Mom realized my BS was low. The excitement about Santa would drop my levels. After that I got less insulin, got more candy, and was fine.

Good luck to you.

This question is not directly related to the topic, but I am a borderline diabetic, no meds, just diet and exercise. I am also on an antidepressant (Remeron). I was wondering what you people that are diabetic and on an antidepressant eat for snacks before bedtime. I have a real problem with the Remeron making me very hungry as I take it before going to bed. I tend to overeat and my BS in the morning are running between 102 and 116. I was wondering if anyone could give me some good ideas on what I can safely snack on that won't give me morning highs, but will take the hunger away. I went to a dietitian and told to eat 2 pieces of toast with peanut butter, but that doesn't fill me up and will eat 2 or more pieces of toast and low carb cereal also. I know I shouldn't eat that much before going to bed, but I'm so hungry from the Remeron. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Well the doctor has taken me off the Wellbutrin and has put me on Trazodone. He said that he should have seen some improvements in me and hasn't really. According to him because of my violent mood swings I've actually gotten worse. Had them before but they are twice as worse now. I start Trazodone tonight and have to been weaned off of Wellbutrin because of side effects. I go back in two weeks for a check up. I had been on Wellbutrin for two weeks today.
