View Full Version : Back teeth suddenly sensitive to chocolate

Within teh past week or so, I've noticed that when I eat chocolate and keep the contents to one side of my mouth for too long, I feel a sudden numbing/chilling pain in my teeth. It is on both sides, in both jaws, and affects only the teeth in the back. This has never happened before. I found it exceptionally painful this evening when I decided to spoil myself and indulge in a creme egg ;)

It does not hurt to eat anything else sweet, or to eat anything else in general for that matter. My teeth are not sensitive to hot or cold. It's only with chocolate - and this is particularly devastating because I am a choco-holic.

Note: I do not have any dental ailments that I am aware of. I usually brush my teeth twice a day, unless I accidentally fall asleep before getting to teh bathroom.

.............................

Anyone else have this problem? I believe I will be going to get my teeth cleaned this month, so by then hopefully I will know if anything is wrong, but just wondering if anyone else here has ever experienced this same problem.

Dark Stranger - needs some chocolate right now :3

You probably have some sort of cavities back there. If so, than your sensitivity should go away once the have fillings placed. Your dentist will be able to tell you for certain. good luck.
