I got my wisdom teeth pulled out 5 days ago, and besides being a barbaric process and extreamly painful... yes I had the pleasure of being awake during this one... 5 days later, Im still in pain!!! Mostly because my jaw is super soar... but my question is, I have been DESPERATLY tying to clean out the holes... the dentist only gave me this suringe to squirt water in to the holes and thats it!! THE PROBLEM... it's impossible to get everything out!!! Tonight I sat on the bathroom counter for an HOUR trying to make sure I get EVERYTHING out and theres still peices that just REFUSE to get out... Im even more soar and I need a better process... SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!!!

I got mine pulled 2 weeks ago, I had 2 dry sockets and was just able to start cleaning mine on monday, so far for me the syringe seems to work fine, I just have to reposition it to get at the holes from different angles, and it is going to be uncomfortable and probably hurt, but for me thats better than tasting nasty decomposing food in your mouth :) Good luck and remember the pain will go away.

I went to Wal-mart and bought one of their cheap water piks. It works like a dream on the lowest setting. made cleaning sooooooooooooo much simpler and quicker, which disturbed the gums less, which made it hurt less. Awesome little piece of equipment to have post op.

my gum grew over a piece of bread that I was unable to remove from the socket, I wonder what the long term effects are gonna be.

I had my wisdom teeth removed yesterday so of course I just started using the salt water rinsing. How quicky did you start eating whole foods. I have been eating pudding and jello and I am looking forward to this evening when I can move warm soup into the diet. When is it safe? Will the food getting stuck in there cause dry sockets, or do you wait to eat whole foods until after the dry socket stage is over.
