My Mom (62yrs) was diagnosed w/ AML type M3 in Aug'02 and started induction chemo in Sep'02. After all rough and challenging time during chemo (pneumonia, colon ulcers, heart rythm problem), finally her WBC started to climb to normal level. She was released from Hospital after bone marrow biopsy was clean.

Next, she went through 3 Consolidation chemo, however the latest biopsy (Apr 03) showed leukemic cells in bone marrow (not in the blood stream). Her Oncologyst said no treatment is necessary unless her physical conditions show any symptoms.

Does anybody has any experience w/ AML that recurred ? How about any alternative/nutritional therapy ?
