hey there i was really convinced that my foggy feeling was due to the inner ear.
my ent did some ear tests like hearing reponse and ear drum tests. he said everything was ok -
he said this could be a migraine. anyone else think this ? come to think of it .. i dont have direct problems with my ears,
im havin a ct scan in a while.

Hmm I wouldn't trust what ENT's say too much they don't always know what they are talking about (as you will see in the thread I'm about to start if you read it!)
Grrr!
Hope you feel heaps better soon!

i agree, dont trust you ent
i had to battle with my ENT for 9 months to get a chloric/ENG test because he kept saying i was a nut-case, told my family doctor i was a nut case and i had a hell of a time getting a referal to the proper doctor. i had the test done, finally, and had 40% damage to my left side and 15% to my right. so...HA!
if you want a firm diagnosis you have to see a neuro-otologist. they sepecialize in the INNER ear, where as an ENT can only see the middle and outter ear. needless to say i was inferiated when i got my ENG results back and my ENT was wrong! he could have saved me 9 more months of wondering what was wrong with me. (sorry to rant, it still makes me mad)
do to a neurotologist. you'll get the help you need there.

Just by doing those simple tests, your ent cannot say that!!! You need the full battery of inner ear testing. You dont need to have probs with your ear physically - you know, ear symptoms - to have an inner ear problem. xx

I second all the above. It *might* be migraine, but you need to see a neuro-otologist to get it diagnosed properly. My ENT didn't believe me - told me I was imagining the pain and causing the dizziness by hyperventilating. I wasted 18 months because of him, before I finally saw a neurootologist and got my MAV/PVD diagnosis. My advice woudl be to find your nearest reputable neurootologist (I'm sure people on the board can help), go back to your doctor with the details and don't let up until you get a referral and proper testing.
Good luck, and don't give up!

I wouldn't trust the ENT. I saw 2 ENT's and they said that it was inner ear related...all from looking in my ear and hearing tests. Turns out I have inner ear damage.....see a Neuro-otologist...they have the answers.
Good Luck.
