found this site, what a blessing! :)

Got all my teeth pulled Mon., did ice packs 20 min. on, 10 off all day on both sides.

Still chimpmunked out yesterday and even more today, the pain is un-flippppping-bareable. Never realized my face could ever achieve such a size ;)

When OH when does it get better?

Pain has felt like 5 sharp knives stuck in my mouth, with one straight down thru my head........the pain pills he gave me don't do sh..... ummmm anything.
All they make me do is zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz; then I get up for 10 min and go back to zzzzzzzzzzzz.

Want to try to get off the yogurt/shakes and get back into some real food: re....taste and consistency, I am just starving on this jello-mashed potatoes-pudding-shake-Slimfast stuff.

Any help and great attitudes is appreciated :)

Any insights........

(((jade))) thanks for the quick reply.

He just had a death in family, so he is gone (only dr. in ofc.) and I have to wait til next wk. for dentures.

Sure would love to wrap my lips around a 7up to settle my stomach or even teeny tiny bits of bologna sandwich. ANYthing for the 1) taste and 2) so I am not perpetually hungry.

Any ideas on food or when?????

I'll ck. bk later, gonna go lay back down. :)

Hang in there. You should start to feel better in a few days. Keep with the ice packs and the soft diet (I know it stinks). If you don't get better after another couple of days, check back with your dentist ASAP. It's possible you may have an infection, especially if you have smoked since the procedure. Did you ask anyone at your dental office if they have a dentist on call to cover your dentist's emergency patient? Some doctors in private practice arrange this. Hope it gets better soon.

Hey Golferguy, I had all my teeth pulled Monday too! I have my dentures in, but haven't been able to eat anything but soft stuff yet. My pain and swelling was not bad until today, but it hasn't been a good day today. Have you tried drinking 7-up? I have been drinking pop since yesterday afternoon. The dentist told me not to drink any for 24 hours, but I am able to now.You might try tea,it is supposed to help with the swelling. That is all I drank for the first day and I haven't had much swelling. Good luck to you!

Hi :) It's me I'm back and slightly better.

Still having to wing the pain with ewwwwww 2 Excedrin every two hours, so that has helped the pain, BUT has created a vicious cycle. My stomach is hurting just a smidge (but like I said the tooth pain is minimizing).

************Want to know when I should be able to drink a 7-up to ease the tummy?

Has been 5 full days (and nights) since they were pulled, all seem to be healing nicely. The only ones that residually hurt were those he cut out and stitiched. (another ewwwww....just thinking about it).

Any "idears " on the 7up? I don't want to make it a habit, but can't eat crackers yet, and thought just a smidge of 7up would do it.

All of YOU: have a great wkend :)

(((Everyone)))

What a GREAT bunch of people!!! You just REALLY made this easier, like someone's doing it WITH ME.

Thank you all SO much.

Now that I (duh) caught up on previous posts I missed, I tried the 7-up, it helps.

Swelling is a lil better, and the only real owies are the three extraction sites he cut out (LOL Art 930) where I have a total of 12 stitches. They are still a lil LIVE.

The best of everything to you all, I'll check back next wk. when I get my purty new chompers ;)

I think you should be ok to drink 7-up now. My doc told me no pop or straws for 24 hours. You are way past that point. I am glad you are feeling better. I am sooo glad I got my dentures. I can't pass by a mirror without smiling, lol!
