Does anyone know of any long term studies relating CLL development and exercise? An 82-year-old former colleague was diagnosed around 25 years ago around the same age I was a year ago. He has had only one flare up, that was successfully treated, and has been doing fine. He has worked out regularly at a gym for years and continues to do so. His example has been encouraging and I've been working out regularly, too (age 64).

I don't know about long-term studies with exercise and CLL, but I do know there have been many studies on how good exercise is for cancer in general...........exercise stimulates the production of human growth hormone in your body, which keeps you young and healthy. And it stirs things up, getting nutrients well-circulated throughout the body.

That makes sense, Ellen. It certainly won't hurt, and it clearly helps with stress, too. which is often recognized as a factor in cancer.
