View Full Version : Macular Edema

I have macular edema due to diabetes. I have had laser surgeries done on both eyes. My left eye is far worse than my right eye and the doctor doesn't seem to hold out much hope for improvement there. Yesterday I had cortisone injected in the lower eyelid of the left eye. Today the eye is sore. Is that normal? I would like to hear from anyone who has this terrible disease. I'm holding out hope for improvement. Wondering how others have done following a strict, tight glucose control program. I also have my cholestorol under control as the doctor said that it was leaking into my retina and blocking my vision. Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Nothing is scarier than loss of vision.
One other thing I have noticed is that the two doctors I have seen are rather abrupt and not willing to explain procedures in any detail. They are retina surgeons.
