I am doing really well, I had my first one in l987 and then one in 1992....None since then....I have been lucky...I stay out of the sun and try to check myself...
I have had basal cell several times. You do have to watch for th squamous cell
because they can spread if not taken care of. I know a woman who has had
numerous squamous cell, she is just checked periodically. Good Luck.....

I had this painful spot on my finger removed 5 years ago and doctor did NOT biopsy it and told me it was a wart. It started coming back about 6 months ago and I went to the doctor last week and saw his assistant and he said it was a wart and would remove it. I insisted that he biopsy it. Well I got the phone yesterday that it is a squamous cell carcinoma! So it's been there at least 5 years! I go back Monday to have more removed.

Very smart you insisted on a biopsy. SCC can spread and occasionally matasticize (sp?). My grandfather had a spot on his arm he refused to get checked out. It came up in a keratosis and he kept insisting it was just a "sunspot." By the time my Aunt dragged him to the doctor, they had to cut all the way down into his muscle to get it all and give him some local radiation.
