Hey,
I was using it for almost a year at 20mg a day. I just weened myself off in the past 1 1/2 weeks by cutting the tablets in half. I dont know if its related or not but now I feel almost dizzy at times / disoriented. I feel really wierd. Im really scared. If I see the doc he's probably going to want to put me back on it. I just feel wierd, mostly on the left side of the head, disoriented, sometimes I know my heart is beating way too fast. Im hoping my body adjusts.
any help.

I tried to wean myself the proper way because I felt "normal" after being on them about 3 years. OMG what a mess, I withdrawled so bad that I seriously almost killed my husband. I became really angry. Needless to say, I got back on them and I am terrified to quit. I would love to be off of them but I want to be normal. I hope you get through it. If you have to get back on them for your mental health then so be it. Good luck

the wife just came off this med. She went to Zoloft. No problems noted.

I also posted the same message under the anxiety folder. A user told me its classic withdrawal. I am going to contact my doctor tommorow to let him know and see what he thinks. I dont think he will have a problem with me stopping to use it but might suggest me weening off for a longer period of time (also the other user suggested) i am out of the lexapro right now but have the original verision i used cipramil or celexa or something i recieved in australia. do u think it would be okay for me to ween with this. i'll also check with the doc.
thanx

its definitely a down fall that pcp's are so quick to prescribe a medication like this and in turn were all hooked for life. im finally ready to see a psychiatrist to find out what the real problem is so i dont want to continue using a substance that is deprimental to me but if i have to i have to. i know that it will take atleast a few weeks for me to feel better. its kind of feels the same when i started the drug. the dizziness scares me though.

I would drink lots of water to help flush it out of your system, take a multi vitamin too. Take it easy for another week if you can. Not sure about mixing your meds, I wouldn't personally. I do agree with doctors easily putting us on something we get hooked on and there is no time frame to get off. I do not like that it messes with my chemistry. I've been on it so long I don't remember the dizziness sorry.
