I posted this on the Diabetes board but have no responses. Wondering if anyone here has macular edema due to diabetes? I was diagnosed in November and have had laser surgery in both eyes. Because my eyes were still leaking, even though my blood sugar is well under control, the doctor injected cortisone into the weakest eye. Has anyone else dealt with this horrible disease and if so what was your prognosis? Have you had any luck with the various procedures? My fear is that my vision will never get better and the procedures will only slow the progression as my arteries in my eyes have been damaged. Anyone with any first hand knowledge or information... please respond. I am terrified.
