Recently, my girlfriend just began the patch, and she is wanting to start going to the tanning bed. She hasn't started yet because, she is afraid it will have bad effects on the effectiveness of the patch. What we would like to know is would it be alright for her to tan while on the patch?
Thanks

Whilel there is no strict warning about the patch and tanning, I don't think it's a good idea. Tanning itself is very unhealthy.
But, if she must, tell her to take off the patch during tanning.

you are NOT supposed to take the patch off once u've put it on. it affects the stickyness of the patch and causes it to work less efficiently. dont take the patch off until its time to.

Sorry. The point that I was trying to make is that it isn't a good idea-- I didn't really mean for her to talk it off. I was attempting to point out that the alternative isn't a good idea, either. My goof for not fully clarifying my thoughts.

the uv rays only go skin into the top layer of the skin. they do NOT go any further it wont hurt anything. the only thing that may happen is that she will ahve a big tan line in the shape of the patch. otherwise its ok to go tanning.

She should be fine, tell her to leave the patch on and just tan. I am on the pill and tan 3-4 times a week. My friends are on the patch and they also tan...there weren't any problems.
