I will hopefully be starting a Phase II clinical trial for ISIS 3521 coming up soon. I have read that there are alot of new drug coming up. I would love to hear from anyone that knows someone or has been involved with any of these studies themselves. I have heard alot of good things about ISIS, Iressa, Glevic, even Irinotecan- which is already FDA approved.
Thanks, Michele

Hi Michelle,
Hope you are doing well. How is your Trial with ISIS going? My husband will be trying IRESSA.
Our last visit to the oncologist showed an increase in size in both the Lung Tumor and his Liver Tumor. Needless to say we were saddened by this news. Terry has gone through a number of Chemo's and nothing has helped so far. So, trying IRESSA is next.
I hope to hear from anyone who has tried this drug.
Bless you all,
Marge

HI Marge,
I have been waiting for my ct scan and mri results. Got them Monday this week. Glad to say that there is no sign of the cancer spreading anywhere else. Seems to like my lungs I guess! There is a small increase in the tumor size so that is actually good, because I am eligible for the study now.
We are hoping I can start this Monday. We are waiting for the hospital lawyers to sign off on the research proposal and then we are set. My research nurse explained I will be getting Isis and Taxotere. The Isis will be distributed for two weeks by a portable pump that I will have to carry around. It is about the size of a cd walkman. The Taxotere is given to me every 21 days but IV.
I am really nervous about starting this, I hope it works well. I have been off chemo for a week now and notice I have a lot of problems breathing and achiness. Over all though I feel good, I have medications to control the pain so I am able to help my husband with yard work today. I am very advanced metastatic lung cancer, so I dont know what the chances are of ISIS working that well to put me in remission. I will take what I can get!! I am praying though, and will be meditating, eating healthy and taking walks and do all I can to get better. I want to spend as much time with my husband as possible. Keep me posted on your husbands progress! Good luck, I read a lot of good things about Iressa!!!!

Michele,
Just keep up your prayers & meditations and your good diet.
Terry is holding his own - waiting to see if he's selected for the case study on IRESSA. He hasn't had Chemo for almost 1 month, so I'm getting a little bit nervous about the wait.
I'll be thinking about you.
Marge
