Can those of you who have been on concerta postyour experiance on it?
please tell me if there was any apetite los & moodiness.

Concerta intially caused loss of appetite for me which didn't last nearly as long as I would have liked it to. For me, it was probably just a couple of weeks but then, very few things interfere with my appetite, unfortunately! Also, for the first couple of weeks, I could feel myself come "down" from it in the late afternoon causing some irritability and a "rebound" increase in the ADD symptoms. That, too, passed fairly quickly and is no longer a problem.

My 14yo son takes Strattera. He, unlike me, loses his appetite easily and Strattera caused a PROFOUND loss of appetite for him. It continued for him until we added a small dose of Metadate (a long acting form of Ritalin). Interestingly, his appetite is much better with the combination. Strattera caused a lot of sleepiness for him in the beginning (and with dose increases) which caused him to be irritable. That didn't last long.

I just went to the doctor and got diagnosed with ADD 2 days ago. I am using concerta now and so far I haven't really lost my appetite. I hear that most people do so I'm wondering why I still feel hungry!! I have to admit, my mood swings have been better. I think that concerta works for some people and not for others. My doctor told me that some medicines just dont go well for some people. So far, I think this medicine is really really helping me focus more and pay more attention to things and listen better as well as being more calm and less high maintenance like I used to be about things. it's great! ANyway, things could change. I've only been on Concerta for 2 days so I don't know if things will continue like this but hopefully!! I hope you find something that works for you!! :)
